Privacy Policy

Daybreak is designed as a private, offline-first space for daily intention, reflection, pause moments, and personal stories.

Short version: Daybreak does not sell your data, does not use advertising trackers, and does not use third-party analytics SDKs. Your personal check-ins are stored on your device, with optional Apple iCloud support if enabled.

1. Information You Provide

Daybreak may store information you choose to enter in the app, including:

This information is used only to provide Daybreak’s core features.

2. Local Storage

Daybreak stores your app data locally on your device. This allows the app to work offline and keeps your daily reflections available without requiring a Daybreak account or developer-operated server.

3. iCloud Sync

If Apple iCloud is available and enabled, Daybreak may sync supported app data using Apple CloudKit. iCloud data is associated with your Apple ID and handled by Apple.

Daybreak does not operate a separate backend server for storing your private journal content.

4. Calendar Access

If you grant calendar permission, Daybreak may read your calendar to show today’s meeting or event count.

Daybreak does not upload your calendar events to a developer-operated server. Calendar access is used only to support your daily check-in experience.

5. Microphone and Speech Recognition

If you use voice input, Daybreak may request microphone and speech recognition permission. Voice input is used to transcribe spoken intentions, planner items, or reflections.

Transcription may rely on Apple system speech recognition services depending on device and system availability. Daybreak does not sell or share your voice content.

6. Notifications

If you enable reminders, Daybreak may schedule local notifications on your device. Notification permission is used only to remind you about items you create in the app.

7. Face ID and App Lock

If you enable app lock, Daybreak may use Face ID or device authentication to protect access to the app.

Daybreak does not receive or store your Face ID data. Authentication is handled by Apple’s system frameworks.

8. Widgets and Apple Watch

Daybreak may share lightweight app data with its widgets or Apple Watch companion so they can display your current intention, progress, reminders, habits, or feeling state.

This data is shared locally through Apple-supported app group and WatchConnectivity mechanisms.

You can delete your Daybreak data from within the app where deletion options are provided.

You may also delete the app from your device to remove locally stored app data. If iCloud sync has been used, you may need to manage iCloud data through Apple’s iCloud settings.

11. Children’s Privacy

Daybreak is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, the effective date above will be updated.
